A new NBC survey offers Trump ‘the largest lead’ over Biden.

In a recent NBC survey, former president Donald Trump defeated President Joe Biden with his biggest lead to date as voters overwhelmingly rated the incumbent poorly.

With registered voters, Trump, 77, defeated Biden, 81, by a margin of 47% to 42%; this is an increase from his 46% to 44% advantage in a November poll from the same source.

According to NBC's political journalist Steve Kornacki, "this is the biggest lead NBC has ever had in 16 polls for Donald Trump over Joe Biden" on Sunday on "Meet the Press."

For almost five years, NBC has been doing polls comparing Trump and Biden. Biden has always had the upper hand over his predecessor, but things started to change last year.

In July of last year, Biden claimed to be ahead of Trump 49% to 45%, but by September, they were tied at 46%. Then, Trump surged ahead in November.

The most recent survey, conducted from January 26 to 30, included 1,000 registered voters with a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.

With the inclusion of third-party candidates, Trump's lead grew to six points, defeating Biden 41% to 35%. A Libertarian candidate received 5% of the vote, the Green Party received 5%, and No Labels received 4%.

Neither independent presidential candidate Cornel West nor environmental lawyer Robert F. Kennedy Jr. were put to the test by the survey.
