Arsenal's rout over Sheffield United shows winning mentality

Sheffield, England— Arsenal used to struggle to explain favoritism on nights like this, but Sheffield United were on edge before kickoff under Mikel Arteta,

A testament to their progress. Bramall Lane was empty at kickoff, likely because many home fans were expecting the worst after a disappointing season

Martin Ødegaard, a Jayden Bogle own goal, and Gabriel Martinelli put the visitors up 3-0 within 15 minutes

prompting home fans to leave. Kai Havertz scored a fourth on 25 minutes. Declan Rice's 39th-minute fifth caused further departures.

Blades manager Chris Wilder predicted in his programme notes that his squad may "suffer without the ball" on Monday night

And he was right, but not in the way he expected.

Sheffield United became the first top-flight team to concede five or more goals in three consecutive home games,

Aand Wilder's team may become the Premier League's most porous
