Blue Smoothie Bowl

This brilliant blue smoothie bowl is created with blue spirulina powder, frozen bananas, cauliflower, and Greek yogurt. It's rich, creamy, and refreshing!

I've created another thick and creamy smoothie bowl for you today! This one is high in nutrients and has a stunning brilliant blue hue thanks to blue spirulina powder (also called blue majik powder).

This blue smoothie bowl also has 35 grams of protein, making it an ideal morning or post-workout snack.

Spirulina is a powder made from blue-green algae. The powder might be green or blue (as seen in this recipe). Green spirulina powder is derived from chlorophyll, whereas blue spirulina powder is derived from the algae's phycocyanin.

It's a potent superfood that not only provides a vivid blue color to cuisine, but it's also one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet. Spirulina has several impressive health advantages (source):

One tablespoon includes roughly 4 grams of protein and has a good amount of vitamins and minerals such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, B vitamins, and iron.

The frozen banana thickens the smoothie and adds a little sweetness. For more tips and tactics, see my post on how to freeze bananas!

Frozen cauliflower is useful for creating a thick, creamy smoothie bowl. It accomplishes this without making your entire smoothie taste like cauliflower or adding a lot of sugar.
