Kaya Scodelario, The Gentlemen: I won't play a boring woman.

Kaya Scodelario said she hopes female characters are always “interesting”

and that playing Susie Glass in Guy Ritchie's upcoming series The Gentlemen was a “real pleasure”.

The Maze Runner actress, 31, plays Ray Winstone's daughter in the Netflix series, managing his criminal organization.

It's a delight, she told PA news at the premiere about playing a vibrant character.

I consider it the basic minimum.Women fascinate me. I never encountered a boring woman, therefore I won't play one.

“That's my standard—I expect my character to be interesting, fun, vulnerable, angry, and everything in between.

It was fun to play with it, but I hope it becomes the standard.”

Scodelario, who played Effy Stonem in Skins, said she asked around about working with Ritchie but was advised she had to experience it for herself.

“His brain is forward-thinking.He knows what it will look like before you do, so you have to trust the process and go with it, but it was great.”

Netflix releases The Gentlemen on March 7.
