Kelsey Asbille of Yellowstone Remembers Stuffing Her Bra at 13 for ‘One Tree Hill’ Role

While it's common for older performers to play teenagers in teen dramas, Kelsey Asbille's One Tree Hill storyline was the first instance of a teen portraying an older role.

The actress from Yellowstone appeared on the "Drama Queens" podcast on Monday, March 4. In it, she discussed her first professional role, which she held from 2005 to 2009, as Gigi Silveri on the WB/CW drama.

Cohosts Hilarie Burton Morgan and Bethany Joy Lenz heard Asbille, 32, describe how "I was 13 and y'all were like these beautiful [women]." I packed my bra for the interview.

God, I had to do it! When I borrowed my friend's cheerleading uniform, I assumed I was trying out to be a cheerleader. They were like, 'No, no, no, this is the school nerd.'"

With a 14-year-old son, Burton Morgan, 41, expressed her horror, and Lenz, 42, whose daughter recently turned 13, concurred.

When we first saw Gigi, she was a young woman in love with Marvin "Mouth" McFadden (Lee Norris).

"I was just happy to be there; I had no idea what I was doing." My luck was beyond belief. Asbille laughed and remarked, "I do remember getting the note to stop smiling."

The actress was happy to be matched with Norris, who was a young actor on Boy Meets World, and celebrated her 14th birthday immediately after accepting the role.
