Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy smashes NFL 40-yard sprint record.

(CNN) — On Saturday during the 2024 NFL Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana, University of Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy set the NFL 40-yard sprint record.

Worthy, 20, broke the 2017 University of Washington wide receiver John Ross mark of 4.22 seconds with a 4.21 second performance on his second attempt.

The Lucas Oil Stadium video screen showed Worthy at 4.22, but he beat the record, triggering a big ovation from the fans.

Breathing out After running 4.25 on his first try, Worthy told the NFL Network he felt “tired”

“Man, it’s crazy,” he said. I watched the Combine my whole childhood since John Ross ran it. “Man, I never thought I would do that on stage.”
