 there are long-term effects that have already altered the nutritional value of the food you consume.

 How easy is it for you to locate a strawberry at your neighborhood supermarket.

 It's likely that you could find strawberries for sale at the store.  

 They would be quite expensive, roughly the size of a golf ball, and most likely bright red.  

 The fact that the strawberries your great-grandparents and grandparents were eating a few generations ago were very different is perhaps not unexpected.  

 They had a deeper red color, were presumably not present toward the end of winter, and were smaller—perhaps around the size of a quarter.
